A Dialogue Between
Art and Landscape
The Franz Marc Museum has an extensive sculpture park that blends harmoniously into its natural surroundings. Nestled between Lake Kochel, the moors and the Alpine foothills, the park is an open-air backdrop for works of contemporary sculpture and offers an experience that changes through the seasons.
With sculptures by Renée Sintenis, Tony Cragg, Alf Lechner, Per Kirkeby and other major artists, it is an inviting place to wander, explore and linger in contemplation. The works create interactions with each other and are also part of a fascinating dialogue with the light, the weather and the landscape.

Per Kirkeby, Torso Ast, 1988, Skulptur / Bronze, Ankauf 2019/2020

Alf Lechner, Hommage à Franz Marc, 1984, Franz Marc Stiftung
A free audio guide for the park provides more details of selected works and their creators; the self-guided tour provides a captivating art experience that engages both the intellect and the senses.
The sculpture park is open to the public all year round. It is an extension of the museum, but also an independent place for encounter, contemplation and direct experience of art in open spaces.
